Dr Alexander Shaw
Dr Alexander Shaw is a globally experienced investment professional with over 15 years’ experience in the mining sector. He has extensive experience particularly in diamonds, ferrous, base and precious metals and has held senior roles at ITM Angola, African Minerals, First Quantum Minerals and Wood Mackenzie. Dr. Shaw is a director of Blackstone Natural Resources and Chief Geologist at Canyon Resources who are developing the world class Minim Martap Ngaoundal bauxite deposit in Cameroon. His professional memberships include: Australian Institute of Geoscientists, American Institute of Professional Geologists, Geological Society of London (Fellow) and the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Dr. Shaw obtained his BSc. (Hons) from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford, UK.
The Alliance was founded by Anthony. C. Campbell. His banking experience at RBS, UBS and Barclays Capital provided solid exposure to the benefits of inter-institutional networking as well as the mechanics of vanilla and exotic investment products including bonds, structured derivatives, hybrid funding mechanisms and syndicated loans
Werbayne McIntyre is an OBE (Officer of the order of the British Empire) a title awarded by the Queen of England for his outstanding services to the UK. Also a B.A. and entrepreneur with an up to date understanding of the practical issues of funding in Sub Saharan Africa. He is a Director of the Frontier Alliance who travels extensively in Africa advising governments on IT for Education and introducing the financial opportunities that the company can offer.
As international affairs expert Dawit has occupied senior roles for telecom, oil, gas and power organizations in USA, Caribbean, Middle East & Africa. Experienced in partnerships, acquisitions, growth strategy, economic policy, project management, private and public-private partnerships he has advised corporate principals world-wide. While at Washington DC headquarters from 1998- 2013, Dawit worked in World Bank’s Africa Energy Division, and on Vice President's Internal Audit Department.
Dawit filled an executive role for Investor Relations of Nightingale Fuel. In total Dawit led international strategic initiatives exceeding USD $600M in capital expenditure. As a private investor & charity founder, Dawit micro-finance and built 1000 homes for Sri Lankan tsunami victims. Dawit now serves as an active investor and primary advisor to Qatar’s Royal Family for USD $610M in megaprojects, his activities integral to the success of Qatar World Cup 2022
